Mont Veyrier

Mont Veyrier is a 1,291-meter limestone summit that rises above Lake Annecy, featuring a steep ridge with dense forest and exposed rock sections near the top. The mountain consists of massive limestone formations that developed over millions of years.

Local people established multiple routes to the summit in the 19th century, creating a network of paths that connected surrounding villages with the mountain. These early trails laid the foundation for the hiking routes used today.
