Parc Bazin, Urban park in the 3rd arrondissement, Lyon, France

Parc Bazin is a 3.1-hectare urban park in the Montchat neighbourhood of Lyon's 3rd arrondissement. Its main entrance is on Avenue des Acacias, and the grounds combine open lawns with groups of tall conifers and, along one edge, thin-trunked deciduous trees. In the north-east section stand three large stone statue groups by Émile Peynot.

The park was created in 1975 on a former gravel pit that had been filled in 1938, covering 2.5 hectares. It was first called Parc de l'Est, then officially named Square Georges-Bazin on 28 April 1986. A winter 2009 extension brought the total area to 3.1 hectares.

Local residents gather at the pétanque court to participate in traditional French bowling games while children explore the playground facilities.

The park can be accessed from Rue de l'Est and Avenue des Acacias with varying hours depending on the season. Plan your visit knowing that opening times differ significantly between winter and summer months.
