Parc Zénith, Urban park in 3rd arrondissement of Lyon, France
Parc Zénith is an urban park in Lyon with large open lawns, young trees, and water-filled channels that run through the space. Benches and rest areas line the pathways, bordered by alternating hedges throughout the grounds.
The park stands on the former site of the Rochet-Schneider factory, which manufactured Zénith carburetors from 1907 to 1971. This industrial legacy transformed an urban manufacturing zone into a public green space.
A large mural on the Ecohlcité school wall shows the four seasons alongside landmarks like the Basilica of Fourvière and the Opera. The artwork connects local identity with the everyday surroundings of visitors.
The park has three main entrances on Avenue Lacassagne, Rue Rochaix, and Rue Rollet for easy access. The nearby metro stations Monplaisir-Lumière and Grange Blanche make it straightforward to reach the area.
The space underwent France's first health impact assessment for an urban area, which led to careful plant selection based on health benefits. A three-year smoke-free pilot program was later tested here.
