Château d'Alphéran

Château d'Alphéran is a manor house in Puyricard near Aix-en-Provence featuring classical French architecture set within an expansive property. The grounds include formal gardens and an orangery building nestled at the base of the Trévaresse mountain range.

The estate was established in the early 1600s as Domaine de Sainte Croix and acquired its current name when Claude Alphéran de Bussan took ownership in 1724 following his services during a plague outbreak. Significant structural reconstruction took place after the 1909 earthquake altered the region.

The château maintains its French architectural elements through multiple renovations, including a major reconstruction after the 1909 earthquake.

The property now serves as an event venue where weddings, business meetings, and photography sessions can take place. Visitors should arrange in advance since the site operates primarily for organized functions.

The orangery building hosted a notable wedding between Simone Charlet and Raymond de Roquefeuil-Montpeyroux in 1921, an event that held social significance at the time. This occasion left an imprint on the local social history of the region.
