Casino de Houlgate is an entertainment center in this coastal town that combines gaming tables, a cinema, and a theater hall under one roof. The theater building seats around 260 spectators and features modern interior spaces.

A first wooden casino was built in 1859 opposite the Grand-Hôtel de la plage, itself opened the same year. The present casino opened in 1877 and ran without incident until 1903, when mayor M. Pillu and Dr Boulay, president of the tourist office, fell into conflict over it. Work began in 1905 and finished in 1909, after which a theatre with a permanent troupe of ten actors and a ten-musician orchestra was installed.
