Château Haussmann, Historical castle in Cestas, France
The rectangular Château Haussmann features a ground floor and two levels beneath a mansard roof, with semi-hexagonal projections on north and south sides.
Baron Haussmann and his wife commissioned architect Victor Baltard to rebuild their residence in Cestas following the death of Madame Haussmann's parents in 1862.
The interior decoration incorporates stained glass windows, stucco ornaments, detailed paneling, and painted door tops reflecting 19th-century French architectural styles.
The château received historical monument status in 1975 for its facades and roofs, with additional protections granted in 1989 for outbuildings and interior elements.
A polygonal water tower stands among the southern outbuildings, accompanied by stables and specialized wine storage facilities near the main structure.
