Puy de la Croix Morand is a volcanic summit in Chambon-sur-Lac that rises to approximately 1520 meters and features compact basalt with a vesicular structure. The northwestern slope displays these volcanic rock formations prominently.

Puy de la Croix Morand is a summit of 1,519 metres in the Monts Dore, rising about 119 metres above the surrounding terrain within a radius of 1.7 kilometres. The nearest higher peak is Puy de la Tache, 1,629 metres, 1.2 kilometres to the north-east. The summit lies 18.4 kilometres south-west of Saint-Genès-Champanelle, in a landscape of hills and farmland.

The summit sits within a biosphere reserve that holds ecological importance for the wider region. Visitors can observe the diverse plant and animal life that flourish on this volcanic mountain.

Marked hiking trails lead to the summit from several starting points. Access is available through waymarked routes, with approaches beginning from Col de la Croix Morand at approximately 1400 meters elevation.

The summit rises to 1,519 metres, about 119 metres above the surrounding terrain, and lies roughly 1.2 km southwest of the higher Puy de la Tache (1,629 m). The village of Saint-Genès-Champanelle sits about 18 km to the southwest, and the surrounding land is given over to farmland.
