Sommet Pelet

Sommet Pelet is a summit in the Esterel massif standing at 550 meters and offering views of the coastal towns Mandelieu-la-Napoule and Théoule-sur-Mer. The peak can be reached by several routes that pass through forests and across rocky terrain.

The summit received a surveying marker in the 20th century that helped the French military with precise measurements of the Mediterranean region. This installation shows how the topography of this area was scientifically documented.

The paths around this summit are popular walking routes where local residents spend their free time, especially on weekends. You can see Mediterranean vegetation and rock formations that give the landscape its distinctive character.

You can reach the peak by several routes with different difficulty levels, most taking between one and three hours of walking time. Wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for changing weather, as the exposed summit can be windy.

This summit is a popular spot for mountain bikers who tackle the steep rocky descents and technical rides. For hikers it can be surprising to encounter how heavily the trails here are used by cyclists.
