Bodbe Monastery

The monastery complex includes a three-nave basilica, a bell tower, and several monastery buildings spread across upper and lower terraces near Sighnaghi.

The monastery dates back to the 9th century and contains the tomb of Saint Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity in the 4th century.

The monastery served as a center for religious manuscripts, with notable scribes like Zakaria Bodbeli and Ioane Jorjadze contributing to its collection.

Visitors can access the monastery daily from 09:00 to 18:00, with admission restricted during liturgical services and appropriate dress required.

A natural spring near the monastery emerged through Saint Nino's prayers, and many believe its waters possess medicinal properties.
