Iera Moni Pammegiston Taxiarchon is a monastery complex located on the foothills of Mount Klokos, surrounded by dense forest about 15 kilometers from Aigio. The site contains living quarters arranged across multiple levels, a central church with an octagonal dome, and decorative marble window frames throughout the grounds.
The monastery was founded in the late 14th century with backing from influential members of the Palaiologos family. It suffered severe destruction twice from Turkish forces, yet was later rebuilt and has operated continuously since.
The monastery functions as a pilgrimage site where local communities gather throughout the year to honor their religious traditions. Its decorated interior spaces and sacred objects reflect practices that have remained largely unchanged for generations.
