Reaching the waterfall requires a challenging 40-kilometer hike along the Nordkalottleden Trail, starting from the village of Kilpisjärvi through marked paths.

During sunny periods, the interaction between sunlight and water spray creates rainbow formations at the base of the falls, visible from specific viewing positions.
