Haarla paper mill

Haarla Paper Mill is a paper production facility in central Tampere featuring solid brick buildings and classical industrial structures from the early 1900s. The site contains traditional manufacturing spaces with high ceilings and thick walls typical of paper mills from that era.

Rafael Haarla founded the mill in 1919, initiating industrial paper production in this region. The facility grew during the 1920s and 1930s and became one of Tampere's established manufacturing operations.

The mill was a significant employer for decades and shaped the neighborhood through its brick structures and factory smokestacks. Today it stands as a reminder of when such facilities formed the backbone of local economic life.
