Orašac

Orašac is a settlement that stretches along the Adriatic coast at the foot of Mount Bracevo, sheltered from northern winds by nearby higher ground. The community occupies a compact area where buildings cluster closely together facing the sea.

The settlement was founded in 1040 and took shape as a tightly clustered community as a defense against attacks by Narentine pirates during medieval times. This compact layout became a defining feature of the community throughout the centuries.
