Drežnik Grad

Drežnik Grad is a medieval settlement with stone structures and fortifications positioned on elevated terrain in the Rakovica area. The site contains towers and walls that rise above the surrounding landscape and overlook the natural environment.

The fortress developed as a defensive stronghold against Ottoman expansion into the region during the 15th and 16th centuries. It served as a crucial protection point for the local population during this period of border conflicts.

The settlement maintains Croatian traditions through regional festivals that display local crafts, foods, and music performances throughout the year.

The site is reachable by marked roads from Karlovac and has parking areas near the fortification. Visitors should expect uneven paths and hilly terrain that require sturdy footwear.
