Clock tower, Clock tower in Old Town, Croatia
The 31-meter tall Clock Tower features a prominent clock face and two bronze figures named Maro and Baro that strike the massive bell.
Built in 1444, the Clock Tower underwent reconstruction in 1929 after earthquakes caused structural damage and made the tower lean toward Stradun street.
The bell chamber houses a two-ton bronze bell crafted in 1506 by Ivan Rabljanin, marking time for residents and visitors throughout the centuries.
The Clock Tower stands at the eastern end of Stradun, adjacent to Luža Square and the Rector's Palace in the center of Dubrovnik.
The green-patinated bronze figures, known as Zelenci, were installed 21 years before the creation of the famous Moors at Venice's Torre dell'Orologio.
