Konavoske stijene

Konavoske stijene is a limestone cliff system along the Adriatic coast in Croatia. The formation rises up to 300 meters above sea level and stretches along the shoreline near Popovići village, with trails that allow visitors to explore different sections of the escarpment.

The cliffs received official protection status as a Site of Community Importance in 2013. This designation became a key step in securing long-term conservation of the region's distinctive coastal geology and biodiversity.

The cliff face reveals how local ecosystems have adapted to harsh maritime conditions over time. Walking through the area, you notice plants and rock formations that tell the story of Mediterranean coastal life.

The site is accessed through marked walking paths near Popovići village. Wear sturdy footwear since the terrain is steep and rocky, and take advantage of designated viewing areas to rest and enjoy the scenery.

The cliff face contains four distinct habitat zones packed into one location. Each zone supports specialized plant life that exists almost nowhere else on Mediterranean limestone shorelines.
