A chapel was first constructed on this site following the rescue of a child from a well in 1753. The current stone building was completed in 1990, replacing the original wooden structure.
The chapel serves as a significant stop along the Mária Út pilgrimage route through Central Europe, where pilgrims collect stamps in their passports. It draws people following this spiritual path who seek a moment of quiet reflection.
