The Franciscan Church stands at Mátyás király tér with its Gothic architecture and a Baroque tower that rises above the chancel.
Construction of this medieval religious complex took place between 1480 and 1503, incorporating materials from the 12th-century Saint Peter hospital church.
The church complex maintains its original religious function and houses a collection of religious art pieces including a 15th-century Gothic chair.
Visitors can explore the church and monastery Wednesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sundays from 10 AM to noon.
The monastery farm initiated paprika cultivation in Szeged during the 16th century, establishing the region's connection to this spice.
