Háziréti-víztározó, mesterséges állóvíz Pest vármegyében
The Háziréti reservoir is a man-made water body near Pilisvörösvár on the border between Pilisvörösvár and Csobánka. The basin covers approximately 26 hectares with an average depth of 2.5 meters, fed by two streams that create varied depths ranging from less than one meter near the creek mouths to nearly four meters at the dam.
The reservoir was created by damming two streams and appeared on late 18th-century maps as an artificial lake with a dam structure already in place. Throughout the 20th century it underwent phases of change: from a vegetation-covered waterway in the 1960s to its current development as a managed recreational and fishing area following various ownership transitions.
The Háziréti reservoir takes its name from the two streams that feed it: the Házi-réti-patak and Határ-réti-patak. It has become a gathering place for local anglers and nature seekers who value spending quiet time by the water away from urban crowds.
The site is accessible via Highway 10 with a large free parking lot at the southeastern corner, just steps from the water. Visitors can drive or take buses from Árpád híd or Pilisborosjenő that stop within 500 meters to 2 kilometers of the reservoir depending on the route.
Thousands of old tree trunks protrude above and below the water surface - remnants from the flooded landscape that create an unusual contrast. These submerged logs make navigating motorboats risky and require local knowledge to avoid engine damage.
