Slane Castle

Slane Castle is a fortified residence perched on a hilltop beside the River Boyne, with four circular towers at each corner built in the Neo-Gothic style. The grounds include gardens and historic stable buildings that now house a working distillery.

The original Fleming family estate was lost in 1688, after which the Conyngham family constructed the current structure in 1785. The property went through several changes in use before becoming a major event venue in the 20th century.

The name derives from an Irish saint, and today the castle functions primarily as a gathering place where people from across the world come together for performances. The meadow where crowds gather has become central to how locals and visitors experience the estate.
