Carrigrohane Castle, Medieval castle in County Cork, Ireland

The fortified residence stands upon limestone cliffs, providing views across the River Lee and surrounding woodlands of County Cork.

The McCarthy family constructed the original castle, which later became the Barrett family headquarters from 1363 until its sale to the Fitzgerald Earl in 1436.

The castle's deep pool, known as Hell's Hole, features in local folklore with tales of a mysterious creature inhabiting the river bend.

The 6,500-square-foot property contains six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and modern amenities while maintaining its traditional castle architecture with battlements and stone carvings.

A cave system at the base of the castle rock formation extends toward the Ovens caverns, located four miles away.
