Cork County Hall, Administrative high-rise building in Cork, Ireland
Cork County Hall is a modern high-rise in Cork, Ireland, rising on Carrigrohane Road to about 67 meters (220 feet) in height. The building houses government offices, a council chamber, and multiple basement parking levels.
The building was completed in 1968 and was initially one of Ireland's highest structures. It held this distinction until taller buildings were constructed in Cork in the early 2000s.
The sculpture "Two Working Men" by Oisín Kelly at the entrance visibly connects municipal government with the people of the city. It serves as a gathering point where visitors often pause.
The building is easily accessible from Carrigrohane Road and offers ample underground parking for visitors. Be aware that some areas are only open during standard business hours.
A 2006 renovation added a three-level entrance concourse and integrated solar panels with smart lighting. The lighting system automatically adjusts to match natural light levels throughout the day.
