St. John's Priory

St. John's Priory is a medieval monastic complex in Trim featuring stone buildings constructed across several centuries. The site includes a church dating from the 1200s, multi-story structures, fortified walls with defensive towers, and a tower standing near the Boyne River.

Simon Rochfort, Bishop of Meath, founded the priory in 1202 to establish a community of Crutched Friars focused on religious devotion and patient care. The site underwent significant changes through the following centuries until its dissolution in the 1500s.
