Loughcrew Demesne, Neolithic cemetery in County Meath, Ireland.
The Loughcrew Demesne contains over thirty passage tombs distributed across four hilltops, forming one of Ireland's largest megalithic burial grounds point.
During the fourth millennium BC, inhabitants of the region constructed elaborate stone chambers within earth mounds to serve as communal burial locations.
The stone walls inside several tombs display intricate geometric patterns, including circles, lozenges, and leaf shapes that demonstrate Neolithic artistic practices.
Visitors can access the site through marked walking trails, with keys for Cairn T available from the nearby Loughcrew Gardens coffee shop.
Cairn T aligns precisely with the rising sun during spring and autumn equinoxes, illuminating the internal chamber with natural light.
