Nitzana, Archaeological site in Negev Desert, Israel.
The excavation site contains ruins of a fortress, three churches, and multiple buildings from the Nabatean period along ancient trade routes.
The settlement served as a vital station on the Incense Route from the 3rd century BCE until its decline in the 8th century CE.
The Nessana Papyri, discovered in church store rooms, document daily activities and social structures of Nabatean society from 505 to 689 CE.
Visitors can access the national park through Route 211 from Telalim Junction, with available parking facilities and continuous opening hours.
The site features white chalk formations shaped by natural weathering, creating distinct geological structures near the Egyptian border.
