Ben Gurion's Desert Home is a preserved residence in the Negev Desert where Israel's first Prime Minister lived and which now operates as a museum. The house retains its original furnishings, personal belongings, and an extensive book collection exceeding 5,000 volumes.
Israel's founder and first Prime Minister moved to this remote desert settlement in 1953 and lived there for two decades. He spent his days engaged in physical labor and intensive reading, reflecting his commitment to developing the Negev region.
The Heritage Institute maintains exhibitions about Ben-Gurion's vision for developing the Negev Desert, including interactive displays and educational programs for visitors.
The site is open to visitors and offers guided tours as well as the opportunity to explore the rooms at your own pace. An orientation map is available at the residence to help with navigation.
The residence contains Ben-Gurion's original furniture arrangement and his personal library of over 5,000 books, maintained exactly as he left them.
