Eliav

Eliav is a community settlement in the Hevel Lakhish region situated on elevated terrain with residential areas surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. The settlement includes housing developments, community facilities, and infrastructure designed according to environmental preservation principles.

The settlement was founded in 2004 by the Beitar Movement and was originally named Haruv. It was renamed Eliav in 2011 to honor politician Aryeh Eliav.

The settlement brings together secular, traditional, and religious Jewish residents who share educational and cultural activities throughout the year.

The settlement is best reached by private transport since it is located in a rural area with limited public transportation options. The best time to visit is during spring or autumn when temperatures are comfortable and the landscape is most pleasant.

The location between the Judean Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea allows the settlement to blend agricultural activities with modern residential planning. This rare combination of traditional land use and contemporary housing creates an environment distinctly different from most other settlements in the region.
