‘Ayn Būbīn, Natural spring in West Bank, Palestine
Ayn Būbīn is a natural spring in the West Bank where water emerges and collects in a rectangular pool beside an orchard. The spring system includes the pooled water and the surrounding land shaped by the water flow.
Maps from the early 20th century British mandate first recorded this spring, though it did not appear in the 1873 Palestinian survey. This suggests the spring emerged or was documented for the first time between these two periods.
The spring bears names in three languages: 'Ayn Būbīn in English, عين بوبين in Arabic, and עין בובין in Hebrew, reflecting its multicultural setting.
Access comes by way of a dirt road extending southeast from the Dolev junction toward the spring. Visitors should prepare for basic conditions and natural outdoor terrain.
Two caves positioned above the spring offer shelter and natural retreats from the landscape. One of these caves historically served to house and protect pigeons and birds.
