Barak brigade memorial site, Military memorial site in Golan Heights, Israel

The Barak Brigade Memorial is a commemorative site in the Golan Heights featuring a structured layout with inscriptions and informational panels. The location documents the history of the 188th Armored Brigade and is situated along Road 91 near Nahal Gilbon.

The memorial was established in 1981 to honor the soldiers of the brigade who died during the 1973 war. The site marks an important period of conflict that shaped the region.

On the right side of the memorial, verses by the poet Yehuda Amichai are carved into black marble: "At a distance of two hopes from the battle I saw peace." The left side carries the brigade and battalion insignia and a line from the Barak Brigade anthem by Yaron London and Nurit Hirsch. A basalt rock nearby bears the names of the brigade's Six-Day War dead, moved here from the Kavatiya junction memorial.

The site lies on the eastern side of Highway 91, north of Katzrin and next to the Barak Brigade camp. A picnic area serves families of the fallen, and the annual commemoration is held shortly before Yom Kippur. The fallen grove with its metal column stands opposite, on the southern side of the road.

Across Road 91 from the memorial stands the "Grove of the Fallen, Barak Brigade": a tall metal column bearing the brigade emblem beside a rock engraved with the verse "A person is like a tree planted by streams of water, seeking roots." The basalt rock in the memorial compound, carved with the names of the brigade's Six-Day War dead, was moved here from the brigade monument at Kavatiya junction.
