עין נשוט, Archaeological site in Golan Heights, Israel
Ein Nashot sits on a hill at 392 meters above sea level, featuring the remains of a synagogue with decorated columns and stone benches.
The site was first studied in the 1880s by researcher Gottlieb Schumacher, who identified the ancient synagogue ruins in this location.
The ancient synagogue contains a prayer hall measuring 10 by 11 meters, with columns adorned with carvings of nine-branched menorahs.
The archaeological site is located 1.5 kilometers north of Katzrin and 1.5 kilometers south of Kidmat Zvi in the central Golan Heights.
Coin deposits discovered beneath the synagogue floor indicate the structure was constructed around 475 CE during the Talmudic period.
