Jordan River park, Riverside park in Golan Heights, Israel.
Jordan River Park stretches along the eastern channel of the Jordan, with marked paths for cycling and walking. The grounds pass by old mills and archaeological remains that blend into the landscape.
The area was an ancient fishing village called Bethsaida, inhabited during the Second Temple period. It may have later been part of the Kingdom of Geshur.
The site reflects traditional farming practices of the region through old mills powered by river flow. These structures show how people once lived and worked with the water here.
The park is reachable from the northern Golan via Route 87. Note that the ground along the river can be damp, and sturdy shoes are recommended, especially if you plan to explore the water trails.
One of the marked trails takes you through shallow water where you can wade up to your ankles. This experience lets you interact with the river in an unusual way.
