Monument to the memory of Shlomo Ben-Yosef

The concrete monument rises 700 centimeters tall on a mountainside, featuring inscriptions that commemorate the life of Shlomo Ben-Yosef.

Unveiled in July 1959, this memorial honors Shlomo Ben-Yosef, who became the first Jewish person executed by British authorities in 1938.

The monument includes Hebrew text stating 'to die or to conquer the mountain,' reflecting the determination of early resistance fighters.

Visitors can reach the memorial site using the coordinates 32°57'22.6"N, 35°32'5.7"E, which guide them to the Upper Galilee location.

Created by sculptor Yitzhak Danziger, the cenotaph stands as a testament to the period of British Mandate rule in Palestine.
