Akbar Bridge

The Akbar Bridge spans 420 meters across the Nachal Akbara valley, featuring five separate spans constructed entirely from concrete with a width of 14 meters.

Opening on December 24, 2002, the Akbar Bridge established a new transportation link in northern Israel, replacing previous infrastructure that connected the surrounding regions.

The bridge stands near Safed, one of the four main religious centers of Judaism in Israel, where it integrates into the mountainous landscape of Galilee.

The structure carries Highway 89 traffic and provides a direct route for vehicles and pedestrians traveling through the elevated terrain of northern Safed.

Rising at the highest elevation among all bridges in Israel, the Akbar Bridge offers passage over the deep Nachal Akbara valley while maintaining structural integrity.
