Agron House, Office building and university dormitory in Hillel Street, Jerusalem, Israel
Agron House is a modern office and residential building that combines several connected sections. Its main components include a four-story office wing, an auditorium named Moses Hall, and a conference space that serve different purposes.
The cornerstone was placed in 1961 and construction started in 1963 under architect David Resnick's minimalist design. It was built during Jerusalem's period of cultural development and reflects the architectural thinking of that era.
The building served as a hub for Jerusalem's media and cultural scene, hosting journalists and cultural institutions. It became a gathering place where professionals from different fields worked and met together.
The building has been managed by the Bezalel school since 2011, with space divided between student housing and commercial areas. Parts of the structure may not always be open to the public since it remains an active working and residential space.
Moses Hall auditorium was supported by Emma Schaver, an American widow who had pursued a career in singing. Her contribution shows how the building attracted support from people across different countries and artistic backgrounds.
