Thyagaraj Sports Complex, sports venue in New Delhi, India
Thyagaraj Sports Complex is an indoor arena in Thyagarajnagar, south Delhi, with tiered green seating on three sides of a maple-wood court. Its 107-metre roof, among the longest in India, covers a 5,883-seat hall, and the complex also has a 400-metre synthetic track, a football field and five tennis courts.
Construction began in September 2007 and the venue was inaugurated on 2 April 2010 by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, built for the netball competition of the 2010 Commonwealth Games held that October. It was named after the 18th-century Telugu composer Thyagaraja. The stadium later housed Delhi's education department and became the home ground of Dabang Delhi in the Pro Kabaddi League.
The complex sits in Thyagarajanagar, near INA Colony and Kotla Mubarakpur in south Delhi. Its basement holds parking for 460 vehicles, and ramps, lifts and two escalators on each side serve all three levels. Outside, a 400-metre, eight-lane synthetic track surrounds a football field, with five tennis courts (three clay, two synthetic) and athletics areas inside.
