Arya Tea Estate covers 125 hectares of land at elevations between 900 and 1820 meters on the mountainous slopes near Darjeeling town.
Founded in 1885 under the name Sidrabong, Buddhist monks initiated tea cultivation by planting Chinese tea seeds across the valley terrain.
The garden produces specialized organic teas named after precious gems including Pearl white tea, Ruby black tea, and Diamond chunky tips.
Travelers reach the estate through Bagdogra Airport, located 95 kilometers away, followed by a drive through steep mountain roads with 45-degree gradients.
The estate maintains an original 19th-century house where Buddhist monks lived during the initial establishment of the tea garden.
