Asigarh Fort, Monument of National Importance in Hansi, India
The fort spans 30 acres with 52-foot-high walls, security posts at four corners, and a surrounding moat enclosing multiple structures and courtyards.
King Anangpal Tomar constructed the fort in the 11th century, which later controlled 80 surrounding fortifications during its peak military significance.
The main entrance displays detailed carvings of Hindu deities, birds, and animals, while archaeological excavations revealed ancient coins and bronze Jain figurines.
The fort remains open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM throughout the year, with no entry fee and direct access from National Highway 9.
A sword manufacturing center operated within the fort complex, exporting weapons to Arab countries during the medieval period.
