Asigarh Fort

Asigarh Fort is a monument of national importance in Hansi with massive walls and four corner towers, surrounded by a moat that encloses multiple buildings and courtyards. The structure shows the military building style of earlier times with its defensive features.

King Anangpal Tomar built the fort in the 11th century as a defensive stronghold for the region. Later it became the control center for a large network of fortifications in the surrounding area.

The main entrance displays detailed carvings of Hindu deities, birds, and animals made by regional craftspeople, showing the artistic skills valued in this place.

The fort sits on National Highway 9 and is easy to reach for visitors traveling by car or public transport. Plan enough time to explore the different areas and towers thoroughly.

In medieval times the fort was a center for weapon and sword making, with products exported to Arab countries. This craft tradition made the place an important trading hub of the region.
