Haryana Rural Antique Museum

The Haryana Rural Antique Museum is a heritage facility in Hisar that houses more than a thousand objects from rural life. The collection includes soil samples, tractors, traditional farming implements, and personal items that show how people worked the land.

The institution started in 1978 at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University as a repository for farm-related objects. It underwent substantial renovations between 2018 and 2021 before reopening to visitors with improved facilities.

The displays feature traditional clothing, musical instruments, and everyday objects that show how rural communities lived and worked. These items reveal the customs and skills that remain important to people in this region today.

The museum sits within the Gandhi Bhawan building and offers free parking with convenient public transport access. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to walk through all the exhibition areas at a relaxed pace.

The museum features a Mixed Reality portal that immerses visitors in the history of rural Haryana. This technology allows guests to explore the university campus virtually while surrounded by actual historical objects.
