Black Thunder, Water park in Mettupalayam, India

Black Thunder is a water park at the base of the Nilgiri Mountains near Mettupalayam. The site includes several slides of different heights, a wave pool, and shallow areas for children.

They document that before the COVID-19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu the park depended heavily on visitors from educational institutions, and that the closure of those institutions during the pandemic led the park to seek assistance from a governmental body.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu, the park drew many visitors from educational institutions, and school and college groups were a regular part of its clientele. The park sits on the Mettupalayam–Ooty national highway at the foot of the Nilgiris, about 40 km north of Coimbatore; the nearest railway station is Mettupalayam and the nearest airport is Coimbatore. It covers roughly 60 acres, with more than 70 rides and attractions, 35 of them water rides. A restaurant operates inside the park.
