Kaduthuruthy Mahadeva Temple, Hindu temple in Kottayam district, India
The Kaduthuruthy Mahadeva Temple contains a three-foot Shiva Linga in its sanctum and features four towers across an eight-acre complex.
The temple suffered a major fire over 300 years ago, during which the chief priest sacrificed his life protecting the sacred idol.
The temple houses replicas of deities from Vaikom and Ettumanoor temples, allowing devotees to receive blessings from all three sacred sites.
The temple opens from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with men wearing Mundu and women wearing Sarees for entry.
According to legend, the demon Khara received three Shiva Lingas from Lord Shiva and installed the smallest one at this location.
