Pakur Block is an administrative division in Pakur district, Jharkhand, covering hilly terrain interspersed with plains and featuring a fertile strip near the Farakka Feeder Canal. The area comprises 156 villages spread across the region and is traversed by the Sahibganj railway line that supports local connectivity.
The administrative structure came into existence when Pakur district separated from Sahibganj district in 1994, establishing a new governance division in Jharkhand. This separation marked a significant shift in the state's administrative organization.
