Raj Bhavan

The building dates from the British colonial period of the 19th century and has served as residence for successive governors of Maharashtra. It was constructed during this era and has remained an important administrative location ever since.

The building houses one of the first elevators installed in India, which was built by Otis Elevator Company. This early technological installation demonstrates how advanced technology was integrated into colonial structures during that era.
