Chaturshringi Temple, Hindu temple on Chaturshringi hill, Pune, India
Chaturshringi Temple is a Hindu place of worship in Pune located on a hill at the northern edge of the city and containing several prayer spaces. Stone staircases connect the different levels and lead through three successive archways up to the main area.
The complex was built during the rule of the Peshwa dynasty in the 18th century and was established by Madhavrao as a center for religious activities. Since then the site has been continuously visited and maintained by worshippers.
The site takes its name from four distinct peaks that mark the surrounding landscape and play an important role in local devotion. During Navratri celebrations, pilgrims come here in large groups to sing together and perform traditional rituals.
The site is accessible all year round and does not charge admission to visitors. Public transport and parking spaces make it easier to reach the foot of the hill.
A path carved into the rock allows visitors to walk all the way around the building. The overall structure reaches considerable dimensions and offers several viewpoints over the surrounding landscape.
