JK Temple, Hindu temple in Sarvodaya Nagar, Kanpur, India
JK Temple is a Hindu temple in Kanpur with five separate shrines housing deities such as Radha Krishna, Lakshmi Narayan, Ardhanarishwar, Narmadeshwar, and Hanuman within a triangular layout. The structure creates distinct prayer spaces that reflect different aspects of Hindu belief and practice.
The Singhania family, owners of JK Organisation, established this religious structure through JK Trust and opened it to the public in 1960. The temple emerged from the family's desire to create a place of spiritual significance for the community.
The temple walls display detailed carvings depicting scenes from Lord Krishna's life, drawing visitors into Hindu mythology through visual storytelling. These artistic elements tell stories that worshippers and guests encounter as they move through the space.
Visitors must deposit their bags at the cloakroom and go through security checks before entering the grounds. These security measures apply to all guests without exception.
Three decorative ponds surround the temple on the western, northern, and southern sides, creating a peaceful setting. These water features are carefully maintained alongside the surrounding plants and trees that shape the character of the grounds.
