Ulagalantha Perumal Temple, Kanchipuram, Hindu temple in Kanchipuram, India.

Ulagalantha Perumal Temple is a Hindu shrine in Kanchipuram built in the Dravidian architectural style, featuring three main towers that rise through multiple levels and are connected by elaborately carved walls. Inside, the temple contains numerous chapels, corridors, and courtyards that allow visitors to move through different sacred spaces dedicated to various deities and spiritual practices.

The shrine was founded during the Pallava dynasty and received progressive structural additions during the rule of the Cholas, Vijayanagara kings, and Madurai Nayaks. Each of these periods shaped the temple with new architectural features, allowing it to evolve into a layered complex of different building styles.

The temple embodies four Divya Desams named Thirukaarvaanam, Thirukaragam, Thiruooragam, and Thiruneeragam, representing different spiritual aspects within its premises.

Visitors find easiest access through the entrances on the eastern and southern sides of the complex, where information signs help with orientation. It is important to prepare for uneven terrain and wear comfortable shoes, as exploring the grounds involves considerable walking throughout the different areas.

The main deity image in the inner sanctum is extraordinarily large and is housed in a specially constructed shrine with a high ceiling to accommodate the statue's dimensions. This architectural detail is uncommon and shows how the temple's design was tailored around the worship of a specific manifestation.
