Koosalli Water Falls

Koosalli Water Falls cascade through six distinct levels of varying heights, plunging through dense forest near Byndoor taluk in a spectacular display of falling water. Multiple pools form between the tiers, each collecting water that creates its own smaller downstream flow.

The waterfall has flowed through the Sharavathi region of the Western Ghats for many centuries, shaping the landscape through constant erosion. In recent times it gained recognition as a natural monument worth protecting.

The falls hold significance for local communities who visit during religious festivals for ritual bathing in the pools at its base. These gatherings reflect how the waterfall connects to the spiritual life and customs of people in the surrounding villages.

The lowest cascade produces powerful surges during the monsoon months from June to September, but this section often remains hidden from casual view. Many visitors miss the full force of this final drop because the angle of approach obscures it.
