Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, Wildlife sanctuary in Maharashtra, India.
The sanctuary spans 5.14 square kilometers of dry deciduous forest containing Acacia catechu, Dalbergia latifolia, and Ziziphus mauritiana tree species throughout the protected zone.
The Maharashtra government established this protected area in August 1997, although the region received initial protection status in 1919 according to Wildlife Institute records.
The sanctuary borders the Morgaon Ganesha Temple, part of the Ashtavinayaka temple circuit, which draws numerous religious visitors to the Maharashtra region.
Visitors can access the sanctuary by vehicle or on foot between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with entry fees of 50 rupees per person and 100 rupees for four-wheelers.
The Indian Gazelle population shares this protected territory with Indian gray wolves, creating a natural predator-prey ecosystem within the smallest wildlife sanctuary of Maharashtra.
