Adikesava Perumal temple, Sriperumpudur, Hindu temple in Sriperumpudur, India
The temple features Dravidian architecture with a five-tiered entrance tower and granite walls adorned with detailed stone sculptures depicting religious scenes.
Built during the Chola period, this temple gained prominence as the birthplace of Ramanuja, an 11th-century Hindu theologian and philosopher.
The temple conducts six daily rituals according to Vaishnava traditions, including morning ceremonies, midday offerings, and evening prayers with sacred chants.
Visitors can access the temple between 6 AM and 12 PM in the morning and 4 PM to 8 PM in the evening throughout the year.
The temple contains a sanctum plated with gold sheets, donated by the Maharaja of Mysore to honor the birthplace of Ramanuja.
