Devkund Waterfall

Devkund Waterfall is a waterfall in Maharashtra, India, that flows in several tiers through dense forest near Rajgad Fort. The water descends between rocks and green vegetation, collecting in a natural pool at the base of the falls.

The area around the waterfall has served for centuries as a landmark for residents of nearby villages and travelers heading to the fort. Old regional records mention the site as a meeting point and resting place along mountain paths.

The waterfall holds spiritual importance for indigenous communities who gather at the site during specific festivals to perform traditional ceremonies and rituals.

Access is by a roughly two-hour walk through forested terrain, with sturdy footwear and enough drinking water recommended. Local guides from surrounding villages know the paths well and can help with orientation.

During the rainy season, the descending water splits into three separate streams before reuniting in the pool below. This division is caused by the shape of the rock face and can only be observed for a few months each year.
