C. P. Krishnan Nair founded the hotel chain in 1986 with the first property in Mumbai after spending decades in the Indian textile industry. Additional locations opened in the following decades across Delhi, Bangalore, Goa, and other major cities.
Lobby areas often display handwoven textiles and murals made by local artisans in partnership with each property, reflecting the craft traditions of that region.
